Hyper-V Monitoring

Using Windows Performance counters, you have the ability to monitor most services / applications on Windows via Telegraf. This page will explain how to monitor Hyper-V.

1. Make sure Telegraf is installed on the Hyper-V host.

2. Add the following code block to your telegraf.conf

3. Restart Telegraf.

4. Import dashboard ID 2618 in Grafana

This dashboard was built for Hyper-V fail over clusters but can be re-purposed for single host monitoring!


This quick guide used basic win_perf counters to monitor hyper-v. There are loads of counters you can also add to your config.
